GOP stacks stem cell votes

I'm sick of hearing wingnuts and Bush apologists say "Dems can't win" when we all know that the GOP can't win shit without cheating. Now the GA legislature is using dirty tricks they've learned from their federal counterparts.

The Senate's Republican leadership stacked the votes in their favor on a controversial stem cell proposal this week, according to several critics of the bill.

Senate President Pro Tem Eric Johnson (R-Savannah) this week named several lawmakers to temporarily participate and vote on committees they are not assigned to, including a Science and Technology Committee hearing on a bill that would encourage the use of stem cell research with umbilical cord blood. The measure also would prohibit some aspects of stem cell research that involve human embryos.
