Sen. Byrd's Hitler analogy

Apparently the right is up in arms over Sen. Robert Byrd's (D-WV) statement regarding Senate Republicans' threat to disallow filibusters.

"Hitler never abandoned the cloak of legality; he recognized the enormous psychological value of having the law on his side. Instead, he turned the law inside out and made illegality legal."

How dare he! Republicans would NEVER stoop so low...
